Algeria: pre-primary school pupils by gender

In the 2019/2020 school year, over 505,000 pupils were attending the pre-primary school in Algeria, approximately 10,000 more than in the previous school year. The pre-primary school corresponds to the nursery, which is known as the école préparatoire in Algeria. It precedes primary education and is attended by pupils aged approximately three to six years. From 2015/2016 to 2019/2020, male pupils in pre-primary education have been more numerous than girls in the country.
