The Chinese copper smelter Guixi, owned by Jiangxi Copper Corp., had the largest production capacity worldwide, amounting to some 520 thousand metric tons as of June 2023. Other copper smelters in India, Japan, Chile, and Germany were also ranked among the six leading global copper smelters based on capacity.
