Export value of petroleum from Algeria 1990-2021
In 2021, the value of petroleum exports from Algeria amounted to over 23 billion U.S. dollars. The value increased significantly compared to the previous year, when exports were particularly low due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. In the period under review, the export value peaked at nearly 53.7 billion U.S. dollars in 2008, before dropping in 2009 following the global economic downturn. Algeria is among the main oil-exporting countries in Africa, and oil rents largely contribute to its GDP.
