Services imports as a percentage of GDP in Africa 2019, by region
Services imports in Western Africa corresponded to approximately 9.3 percent of the region's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in 2019. Indeed, Nigeria was the leading services importer in the continent. By contrast, in Southern Africa, services' imports were equivalent to 4.6 percent of the region's GDP. As of 2019, services imports in Africa amounted to about 182.1 billion U.S. dollars.
