Poland: annual change in the House Price Index 2023

In the observed period, the highest annual increase in residential property prices in Poland's primary market was recorded in the first quarter of 2022, where apartment prices increased by over 13 percent year-on-year. The highest growth in the secondary market was recorded in the second quarter of 2020 by 15.4 percent y/y. In the second quarter of 2023, the prices of residential properties increased by seven percent compared to the same period last year.

The house price index captures price changes of all residential properties purchased by households (flats, detached houses, terraced houses, etc.), both new and existing, independently of their final use and their previous owners. Only market prices are considered, self-build dwellings are therefore excluded. The land component is included. The data are expressed as quarterly index (2015=100), annual rate of change and quarterly rate of change.
