Number of students in tertiary education in Algeria 2014-2021, by gender
In 2021, around 1.5 million students were enrolled in tertiary education in Algeria, and majority of them were women. From 2014 onwards, the total number of students enrolled in third-level education in the country peaked in 2018. In each of the years considered, male students represented the minority of the enrollees. The most popular higher education degrees were business administration, law, arts and humanities, and engineering.
