Netherlands: logistics property user distribution

Nearly half of all logistics real estate in the Netherlands in 2019 was used by a transportation company or a company that provided a logistic service. This according to a tailor-made assessment that combined a logistics property database with the main economic activity of those who occupied the commercial buildings as registered in the Dutch Chamber of Commerce. The source mentions that e-commerce had a notably small market share in logistics property in the Netherlands that year, making up less than three percent of the total market. The source adds, however, that this is likely caused by companies in this category listing a different type of main economy activity than those in the two most popular categories - either "transportation and logistical services" or "other" (which consists of wholesale and non-food production).
