Domestic supply of biomass energy in Japan FY 2021, by source
In the fiscal year 2021, the domestic supply of biomass energy generated from the direct use of black liquor amounted to 152 petajoules, making up the largest source of biomass energy in Japan. Following hydropower and solar energy, biomass energy constituted one of the largest renewable energy sources in Japan in that year.
