According to a survey conducted between November and December 2019 about diversity in the workplace, the most common ways people in Japan learned about sexual minorities were mass media such as television, radio, and newspapers as well as the internet and social media. Over 71 percent of respondents identifying as bisexual stated internet and social media as one of the main sources where they learned about the LGBT community.
