Rate of elderly victims of special fraud in Japan 2014-2018
In 2018, the share of elderly victims in special fraud cases reached 78.1 percent in Japan. This was an increase from the previous year in which 72.5 percent of special fraud victims were elderly. Since the elderly have remained the largest group of victims over the past years, preventing fraud damage against them is a matter of importance for the police in Japan.
