Agricultural area used for cereals in Tunisia 2015-2023, by cereal type
In the 2022/2023 crop year, the total land area used for cereal farming in Tunisia reached 1.28 million hectares. Most of these lands were under barley and durum wheat production, each exceeding 570,000 hectares. On the other hand, a significantly smaller area of agricultural land was devoted to soft wheat and triticale farming. In 2021, the total cereals produced in Tunisia amounted to over 1.67 million metric tons.
