Shared e-scooters became the most popular shared micromobility service in the United States in 2019 with some 86 million trips made by riders that year. Although some U.S. cities have blocked entry of the service due to safety concerns, e-scooter sharing is available in over 100 U.S. cities and extremely well used in some of California's and Texas' largest cities.
