China: urban labor force in major cities

In 2019, Shanghai had the largest urban labor force of all cities in China, amounting to about 15.15 million people. Of these, around 7.16 million were employed in urban units, while almost eight million worked for private enterprises or were self-employed, and 0.19 million were unemployed.
