A study from 2020 considering the political advertising spending in the United States within an election cycle, has found that in 2018, 2.52 billion U.S. dollars was spent on broadcast advertising, which is estimated to grow further, namely to 3.56 billion dollars in the 2020 election cycle. At the same time, the amount of money spent on digital ads is said to increase from 740 million U.S. dollars in the 2018 cycle to 1.82 billion dollars in 2020.
