Value of food imports to Algeria 2019-2020, by product
In 2020, the value of cereals imported into Algeria exceeded 2.8 billion U.S. dollars, representing the highest value of food imports in the country. In fact, Algeria is among the largest grain and wheat importers worldwide. Moreover, the import value of milk and dairy products stood at around 1.5 billion U.S. dollars, while sugar imports amounted to approximately 774 million U.S. dollars as of the same year.
