Around 33 percent of the IoT patents filed in India were by electronics and electrical equipment companies. This was followed by the semiconductor devices segment, with a share of 22.4 percent. During the observed time frame, approximately 4,642 such patents were filed in total by various business segments. Over 60 percent of the patents were registered by different manufacturing segments. On the other hand, the service sector had a share of over 20 percent.
