According to a survey on gym memberships conducted by Rakuten Insight, 73 percent of male respondents and 77 percent of female respondents in Malaysia did not have a gym or fitness studio membership. Fitness studios and gyms in Malaysia were affected by the social distancing measures implemented to prevent the spread of the coronavirus during the COVID-19 pandemic.
