In the fiscal year 2021, the smoke and fire issues at recycling companies in Japan amounted to 283 cases. Figures have been continuously increasing and more than doubled in fiscal 2019. The most common causes of smoke and fire troubles at recycling companies were electrically heated smoking devices and mobile batteries.
