Global support for crude oil expansion 2019/20, by country

Malaysia has the highest share of public support for expanding the use of crude oil as a source of energy. According to a survey carried out between October 2019 and March 2020, 74 percent of respondents from Malaysia were in favor of furthering the use of oil. Russia, Brazil, and India followed, with over 50 percent of the respective population backing oil expansion. Public support for natural gas energy was the greatest out of all fossil fuel types.
