Egypt: monthly value of exports from Kosair and Red Sea ports 2019-2020

The monthly value of exports from Kosair and Red Sea ports amounted to around 1.81 million U.S. dollars in July 2020, and this represented a 49.7 percent increase from the preceding month. Furthermore, between January 2019 and July 2020, the peak value of exports via the Kosair and Red Sea ports was in April 2019 at approximately 43.8 million U.S. dollars. On the other hand, the trough was in March 2020, when nothing was exported through the port.

Total exports is the total exports from all Egyptian ports.

The data constitutes all clearance systems for customs, including foreign trade free zones, the stored products in customs warehouses, as well as imports and exports with respect to temporary admission systems or general trade system.

"Temporary admission system" reflects the Customs operations through which some goods, that are within the Customs territory, can with limitation be partially or totally relieved from import taxes and duties payments.

"General trade system" is in place when the economic territory along with its statistical territory coincide. This reflects that imports are all goods going into an economic territory, while exports are all goods going out of an economic territory of a compiling country.
