Awareness of the term "gay" and its meaning among heterosexual Japanese 2019
According to a survey conducted between November and December 2019 about diversity in the workplace, approximately 95 percent of Japanese respondents were familiar with the term 'gay' and its meaning. Awareness of the term 'gay' was slightly higher among cisgender, heterosexual respondents, who were acquainted with someone identifying as member of the LGBT community.
