
Cigarette expenditure per month by residence in Tanzania 2018
The monthly expenditure for cigarettes in Tanzania was higher in urban than in rural areas as of 2018. Smokers residing in urban areas spent an average of 40,559.8 Tanzanian shillings (TSh), or 17.49 U.S. dollars, to buy cigarettes. In rural areas, the expenditure was at 21,399.7 TSh, around 9.23 U.S. dollars. The overall cigarette expenses in the country was measured at 28,840 TSh (12.44 U.S. dollars) per month.
