Tanzania: tobacco smokers by type of product

Nearly seven percent of adults aged 15 years and older consumed any smoked tobacco product in Tanzania as of 2018. The smoked tobacco products assessed in the survey included manufactured cigarettes, hand-rolled cigarettes, kiko, cigars and shisha. Among the types of cigarettes, 6.5 percent smoked any type, 0.2 percent smoked water-pipe, and 0.7 percent smoked other types of tobacco.

According to the source, "the data was weighted to conform to the latest available population figures from the 2012 Population and Housing census projected for 2017. The 4,797 unweighted cases corresponded to approximately 29.6 million adults aged at least 15 years in the country".
