Degree of satisfaction with own salary in Italy 2019, by gender

Analyzing the seven criteria used to compare the degree of salary satisfaction among Italian employees, it can be seen that the males' average satisfaction is higher for all of them. According to a study published by JobPricing in 2020, the smallest satisfaction gap can be seen in the category of external competitiveness (0.4 points of difference on a scale form zero to 10), while the largest gap is regarding meritocracy (1.1 points). It is worth to notice that the average satisfaction of both genders is overall relatively low. In fact, the highest degree of satisfaction attributed by the respondents is only 4.9 over ten (males' average satisfaction with their firms' transparency).
