Distribution of domestic freight transported in Japan FY 2021, by mode of transport
The predominant share of domestic freight in Japan was transported via trucks, accounting for more than 90 percent of the freight volume estimated for the fiscal year 2021. The total volume transported domestically amounted to roughly 4.25 billion tons.
