Thailand: forecasted spending of wellness tourists by category 2019

According to the survey conducted on health tourism in Thailand from February to June 2019, it was forecasted that wellness tourists would spend around 170 billion Thai baht on hotel and accommodation in 2019. Meanwhile, expenditures on health services would amount to approximately 32 billion Thai baht in that year.

The data was according to the assessment based on the number of tourists in 2019 that amounted to around 39.5 million, together with the health tourism survey conducted in 2012 in which the number of wellness tourists amounted to around 18.25 million.
