The medical tourism industry in the Dominican Republic generated a revenue of approximately 265 million U.S. dollars in 2018. This represented an increase of nearly 15 percent in comparison to the value reported a year earlier. In 2020, the Dominican Republic was the second leading destination for medical tourism in Latin America.
