Africans' perception on Chinese loans to their countries 2019-2021
Around 75 percent of Africans who knew their countries received loans from China were also aware that their governments will be required to repay the debts, according to the survey conducted between 2019 and 2021. Except for Lesotho, more than half of the citizens in the 33 surveyed countries were aware of the obligation. Moreover, 87 percent of Kenyans said their government borrowed too much money from China.
