Looking at occupancy rates in ski resorts in France, clubs and resort villages had an occupancy of only two percent during winter 2020 to 2021. During the 2nd inter-holiday season occupancy peaked at a rate of three percent. Such low occupancy rates are a direct result of the pandemic caused by the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

The study was carried out in 80 French ski resorts, representing 400,000 beds out of a total of 1,450,000 beds in the hotel park in all French ski resorts.
