As of June 2020, the Dominican agricultural sector contributed 131.8 billion Dominican pesos to the country's gross domestic product (GDP). Roughly 90.3 billion pesos were generated by farming, while the remaining 41.5 billion corresponded to livestock, forestry, and fishery. In the past decade, this sector's total contribution to the Dominican GDP went up by more than 95 percent.
