As of December 2021, Amazon shopping was the leading shopping app in Egypt. In Google Play Store, this app was downloaded 622,370 times that month, according to airnowplc.com. Amazon shopping was Souq.com before being rebranded into Amazon and was the largest e-commerce platform in Arab speaking countries. JUMIA Online Shopping followed with over 358,000 downloads. Jumia, based in Nigeria, is generally the most popular e-commerce platform in Africa. Noon shopping ranked third, with some 204,090 downloads.
