Number of young illiterates in Algeria 2018, by gender
In 2018, over 156 thousand young people aged 15-24 years in Algeria were illiterate, representing approximately 2.6 percent of that age group. Young female illiterates were over 81 thousand in number, while males were around 74 thousand. In the same year, the youth literacy rate in the country exceeded 97 percent for both females and males.
