According to the survey conducted on health tourism in Thailand from February to June 2019, most wellness tourists in Thailand were from China, accounting for almost 77 percent of total wellness tourists. This was followed by tourists from Malaysia.

The survey was conducted in medical facilities in Bangkok, Phuket, Chiang Mai, Chonburi, Mae Hong Son, Saraburi, and Nhong Kai province, and in Suvarnabhumi Airport, Don Mueang International Airport, and Phuket International Airport.
