Ghana: tree cover loss drivers 2022

As of 2022, tree cover in Ghana extending to an area of 115 kilo-hectares was lost through shifting agriculture, which comprises small- and medium-scale agricultural activities. This was followed by losses that were commodity-driven (3.2 kilo-hectares of tree cover), comprising large-scale deforestation connected primarily to commercial agricultural expansion.
