The results of a survey in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region in 2020 about the Arab youth, showed that the highest percentage of respondents who think that protests against the political status quo is much more likely or somewhat more likely following the COVID-19 pandemic was in Lebanon at 73 percent. In comparison, there were no respondents who thought that political unrest is more likely following the pandemic in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The survey question was as follows: "Thinking about the impact of COVID-19, has it made protests against the political status quo more or less likely in your country?"
Showing results for "Much more likely", and "Somewhat more likely".
The study was conducted in in two parts:
The first part was The Main Survey conducted in 17 countries between January 19 and March 3 2020 before the coronavirus outbreak with a count of 3,400 face-to face interviews, Covered countries were Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Morocco, Sudan, Tunisia, Jordan, Iraq, Lebanon, Palestine, Syria, and Yemen.
Syria and Sudan were recently added to the latest year's version of the survey in 2020. Each country had 200 respondent. Margin of error for this survey was +/-1.7 percent.
The second COVID-19 Pulse Survey between August 18 and 26, 2020 following the COVID-19 crisis with a count of 600 face-to-face and online interviews divided equally between six countries: Saudi Arabia, UAE, Jordan, Lebanon, Algeria, and Egypt. Margin of error for this survey was +/-4.0 percent.
All respondents were exclusively citizens of their countries and they were 50% male and female.
