Air conditioning units in operation worldwide 2020, by country
In 2020, China was the country with most operating air conditioners in the world, amounting to approximately 800 million units. That number was roughly twice bigger than in the United States. Meanwhile, in the rest of the world there were around 580 million air conditioning appliances. Indonesia and India had a relatively low number of units.
