Published NAPs worldwide 2023

As of 2023, the number of countries to publish National Action Plans (NAPs) stood at 30. The UK was among one of the first states to adopt a NAP back in 2013, and the first to publish an updated NAP three years later in 2016. Some of the most recent countries to publish a NAP include Peru and Pakistan, each publishing in 2021.

NAPs are policy documents used by local governments to express the importance of outlined topics and the actions they will adopt to achieve commitments on an international or regional basis. As of 2023, over 20 additional countries are currently in the process of developing a NAP.
