McKinsey , 52 percent of e-commerce users spent between two hundred and one thousand yuan on average during the COVID-19 crisis in China in 2020, compared to 48 percent before the crisis. The share of those who consumed more than one thousand yuan decreased from 22 percent to 15 percent, indicating that e-commerce user profiles shifted when more and more people from lower tier cities turned to purchasing items online during the coronavirus outbreak.
