In 2022, the number of drug abuse cases registered in Spain amounted to more than 418,000, up from around 395,000 cases recorded a year earlier. This represents a year-to-year increase of nearly six percent. At the beginning of the depicted period, drug abuse cases attended by the Spanish primary health care services reached close to 55,000. As of 2022, 42 people died from mental health disorders due to drug abuse in Spain.
