Global online auction revenue of contemporary art 2020

In 2020, auction houses worldwide focused on the sale of art online as a response to restrictions caused by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. As a result, global online auction revenue from contemporary art skyrocketed in the first half of 2020, reaching 81.9 million U.S. dollars and roughly doubling the revenue recorded in 2019.
