Crop and waste use for biodiesel consumption in Germany 2018, by type
Wastes and residue are the main raw material used for biodiesel sold in Germany. In 2018, over 41 petajoules worth of waste material went towards producing biodiesel for the German transportation sector. The amount of waste used has increased in recent years, while consumption of cultivated crops such as rapeseed has been in decline. In 2018, wastes accounted for 35.8 percent of all raw materials used in biofuel production.
