Low-emission trucks and buses: new registrations in Europe 2021
Alternative fuels were the main source of alternative, more sustainable propulsion for both trucks and buses in Europe in 2021, with 11,961 new trucks and 9,974 new buses registered across the European markets, including the European Union (EU28) and European Free Trade Association (EFTA). Hybrid electric vehicles were less popular, particularly amongst trucks, as they made up only 79 of the new heavy commercial vehicles registrations, a share of approximately one percent.
