Impact of COVID-19 on the production of the food industry in the Netherlands 2020
More than half of the food companies in the Netherlands produced less food due to the coronavirus crisis in the first half of 2020. Ten percent of the surveyed businesses even indicated a production decline of more than 50 percent. In contrast, a smaller portion of the food companies actually increased production in the first half of 2020. These developments are likely to be related to the divergence of food sales figures in the Netherlands.
