As of 2022, over 40 percent of investors viewed economic, social, and, governance (ESG) as being completely integral to the credit analysis. Investors that scored ESGs level of relevance a five on the scale believe ESG plays a prominent role in creditworthiness, influencing credit quality and the ability of borrowers to meet financial commitments. In contrast, eight percent of investors scored the relevance of ESG as a one. This translates to ESG being completely separate from the credit analysis.
