Intra-African exports as a share of total exports 2019, by region of destination
In 2019, the leading destination of intra-African exports was the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC), accounting for approximately nine percent of the total exports from the continent. Moreover, the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) followed, constituting 5.3 percent of the total. Overall, intra-African trade still represents a small portion of African trade activities.
