Perceived vaccine's inefficacy in Latin America

Among 19 Latin American countries studied in 2018, Peru had the largest share of survey participants who were skeptical about the effectiveness of vaccines, with 15 percent of respondents. Less than one out of ten Brazilian interviewees thought the same, according to the survey. As of January 2021, Brazil had secured around 200 million COVID-19 vaccine doses through contracts with AstraZeneca/Oxford and Gamaleya.
