In the United Kingdom, on December 8, 2019 the number of prescriptions prescribed from face-to-face consultation with a GP was 0.31, while prescriptions made via remote appointment was 0.21 per appointment. However, during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020, the number of new prescriptions made via every remote GP consultation increased to 0.31, while new prescriptions administered via face-to-face per GP consultation fell to 0.15.
