The northernmost region of the African continent was home to approximately 205 million individuals in 2022. Egypt, the third most populous country in Africa, had roughly 50 percent of the region's population living within its borders, with over 104 million inhabitants. Algeria, Morocco, and Tunisia followed with 45 million, 37 million, and 12 million citizens, respectively.
