Carnival in Brazil: waste collection in São Paulo 2020, by location

During the eight days of Carnival festivities in 2020, the public cleaning services of São Paulo, Brazil collected around 664 tons of waste. Street parades across the city accounted for more than 90 percent of the amount. Meanwhile, Sambódromo do Anhembi – the Sambadrome, where the annual parade competition takes place – produced a little over 63 tons of waste during the five days in which events took place.
