In 2023, the food sector accounted for around 67 percent of the total sales of hypermarkets in South Korea. It was followed by the furniture sector and the home appliance sector. While retailing in the country is mainly led by online retailers, hypermarkets were taking up about 14.7 percent of the total retailing sector.
